Managing the Behavior of At-Risk Adolescents Using Job Card Grounding and a Token Economy

The purpose of this study was to determine if a specific behavior modification program for a group home would decrease inappropriate behaviors in adolescent males while increasing appropriate behavior. All boys were in foster care and were placed in the group home setting. The boys all had histories of academic and behavioral difficulties. Behaviors ranged from insubordination to fighting. Job Card Grounding with a Token Economy were implemented. Incidences of inappropriate dramatically decreased while appropriate behaviors increased. Two years worth of data will be shared.
