A Comparative Study of Factors Affecting Academic Achievement of School Going Adolescent Boys and Girls

The aim of the present study was to determine some of the selected influencing factors like daily routine of the students, tuitions, content viewed on television, etc. affecting the academic achievement of school going adolescent boys and girls. The focal group of the study consisted of top ten rankers, both boys and girls from class VII, VIII, IX and XI selected from two English medium schools located at Anand and Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. Data was collected by the questionnaire method. Each respondent was made to fill the questionnaire respectively. Analysis was done by calculating frequency and percentages. Results showed that there is not much difference in the importance of many of the selected factors exhibited by boys and girls, which play an important role in their academic achievement.
